Volunteer at SIFA 2024

We are looking for courteous, committed, and responsible individuals who are keen to interact with new people and play a key role in ensuring the festival operates smoothly. A positive working and learning attitude is always appreciated and we will do our best to provide a supportive and welcoming environment.

All SIFA 2024 volunteers are crucial to the festival’s success as they will take on the roles of festival ambassadors and be a welcoming face that anyone can approach for queries and help.

General Requirements

  • Applicants must be Singaporean/PR (Non-Singaporeans/PRs may apply, subject to pass conditions)
  • Aged 18 and above (as of March 2024)
  • Comfortable with interacting with the general public
  • Proactive and takes initiative
  • Possess a customer service attitude
  • Able to handle some physical work and irregular hours

Event Requirements

Compulsory Volunteer Briefings/ Site Recces

All volunteers are required to attend compulsory briefing(s) and site recce(s) on 20th April 2024 to learn more about the festival, its venues, standard operating procedures and the roles involved.

Festival Operations

Volunteers will be rostered into shifts depending on their availability as indicated on the signup form. Meal allowances will be provided should shift cross mealtimes (min. 5 hrs per shift), and transport reimbursement will be allowed for shifts that end past 11.30pm or commence before 7.00am.

Front of House Assistant

You will be posted at the festival venues to assist with duties such as ticket scanning, patron registration for programmes, ushering, crowd control, queue management and attending to patrons’ queries on the programmes and festival in general.

Gallery Sitter

You will be posted at the festival venues to look after the relevant exhibitions/ installations by ensuring that patrons abide by the dos and don’ts whilst viewing, do patron counting, and tend to patrons’ queries by providing information on the exhibit/ installations and festival in general.
