Arts House Limited (AHL) as organiser of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA), together with Arts Association of Singapore (AAS), Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), hereby issue this joint statement to address a matter of great concern that has recently come to our attention.

Several event posters have been circulating on various online platforms, including WeChat, WhatsApp and Xiaohongshu, bearing the event title "2024 Singapore International Festival of Arts" (Event), along with logos or mentions of AAS, NAFA, NTU and SOTA as participating organisations and educational institutions. These posters claim to promote arts competitions under the SIFA branding, inviting members of the public to attend their programmes. We have also identified a website where individuals can register and make payments for programmes under the Event at http://www.chn-art.org/show-20-838-1.html.

We would like to clarify and reiterate that this Event and its associated programmes are not authorised by SIFA and are not affiliated with, nor endorsed by AHL, AAS, NAFA, NTU or SOTA in any way. In light of this situation, we have taken immediate action to inform the public through official notices posted on our official social media platforms and website, unequivocally stating that the Event and its associated programmes are in no way connected to SIFA, AHL, AAS, NAFA, NTU or SOTA.

To ensure that the relevant authorities are informed and appropriate actions be taken, we have reported this incident to the National Arts Council, the Commissioner of SIFA, and to the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth. Additionally, we have alerted the Singapore Police Force and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore.

We are also prepared to take any necessary legal action to protect the integrity and reputation of SIFA and the organisations and educational institutions represented here.

We strongly urge all members of the public to exercise the following precautionary measures:
(1) refrain from sharing, promoting, or participating in this unauthorised Event that is falsely associated with SIFA, AHL, AAS, NAFA, NTU or SOTA, unless such events are officially announced on official platforms;
(2) never share your personal information and banking details through the unauthorised website. Please exercise extreme caution in any financial transactions related to this Event and website; and
(3) file a police report immediately if you suffer a monetary loss or loss of personal information on the website.

We are committed to taking the necessary steps to protect and preserve the authenticity and trustworthiness of the SIFA brand, as well as that of AHL, AAS, NAFA, NTU and SOTA.
